Queen's changed my life. It opened my eyes, challenged my assumptions, taught me to think, gave me four unforgettable years and life-long friends. 65 years on I remain eternally grateful.

I was lucky. A State Scholarship allowed me to leave Oxford after four years with no student debts, and without having to borrow money from anyone, despite my mother being a widow, my father having died in my second term at Queen's with no life insurance. Changed days! Well done with the gift day.
